Oil on Panel Depicting a Gondolier. Attributed to Raymond Allègre 1857-1933.

 A delightful French oil on panel most certainly that of a gondolier.

The back of the painting revelling the artist pallet with inscription "I, the undersigned Gérard de D ..... certify that the work on the back is a study by Raymond Allègre from his workshop". 

"Venice will be his orientation. Very skillful, he proves capable of restoring the impression, the spontaneity of the motif taken from life" Pierre Cabanne-Gerald Schurr.

Indistinguishably stamped to verso top left.

Mounted in a painted period frame 46cm x 40cm.
